From pantry to prestige: Taylor Allgood is UC’s first Marshall Scholar in 60 years

UC alumna Taylor Allgood has been selected as a 2026 Marshall Scholar. She is only the second Bearcat to win the honor and the first since the 1960s. Allgood credits her UC experience and particularly her work in the Bearcats Pantry.

UC reaches $740M in research expenditures

The University of Cincinnati and its affiliates reached $740 million in research expenditures in 2024, a 6% increase over the previous year and a record for UC. Research partners include UC Health, Cincinnati Children’s, the Cincinnati VA and the University of Cincinnati Research Institute.

University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati Children’s awarded $37.2 million grant renewal

The Center for Clinical & Translational Science & Training (CCTST), a partnership between the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and Cincinnati Children’s, has received a seven-year, $37.2 million Clinical and Translational Science Award from the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) at the National Institutes of Health.

Co-op earnings on the rise

In the 2024-45 academic year, University of Cincinnati cooperative education (co-op) students earned more than $94 million in paid work experiences across top industries, making UC one of the best-value universities for hands-on career training and return on investment (ROI). With average co-op salaries exceeding $11,000 per semester, UC continues to lead in experiential learning, job readiness and employer partnerships.

UC political scientist named Carnegie Fellow

University of Cincinnati political scientist David Niven has spent a large part of his career examining how we vote. Now, a $200,000 Andrew Carnegie Corporation of New York fellowship award will help Niven dive deeper into the American polling system and how polling environments impact voters.

$5 million gift supports University of Cincinnati regional colleges

April 15, 2025

An anonymous donor has made a $5 million gift to the University of Cincinnati to support its regional colleges, UC Blue Ash College and UC Clermont College. This generous donation will provide paid internships and co-ops, expanded career services offerings and more scholarship support for students at both colleges. Since 2018, this anonymous donor has given UC $7.26 million; earlier gifts were to UC Clermont.
