Students: Apply Now to Become an RA
Attention, students: Are you a good listener? Do you feel that you're a good leader as well as a great team player? Would you like to live on campus in free housing?
If you said yes to all of the above, you may qualify to become a Resident Advisor (RA) for the 2003-2004 school year. The Office of Resident Education and Development is currently accepting applications for Resident Advisors. To qualify, students must have a GPA of 2.3 or higher, must be a full-time student and must be willing to live on campus in one of the residence halls.
The job pays a stipend of $70 per month, plus provides free room and board. The University of Cincinnati has 60 RAs on staff.
A Resident Advisor is a campus leader committed to the welfare of fellow students who live in the residence halls. The RA serves as a peer advisor, assisting students through referral, and also builds a strong, supportive community on the floor of the Residence Hall.
RAs create and implement programs that educate residents on a variety of issues related to college life. The job is an opportunity to build lifelong skills, both personally and professionally.
Applications for Resident Advisor are available at all front desks in the residence halls, as well as at the African American Cultural and Research Center and the Office of Resident Education and Development, located in Room 420 of Dabney Hall.
Applications need to be dropped off at the Office of Resident Education and Development by 4 p.m., Jan. 31. For more information, contact Maggy Fogler, assistant director of Resident Education and Development and chair of the RA recruitment and selection committee, at (513) 556-6476.
