Faculty Invited to Blackboard Workshop

UC faculty with an interest in technology as a teaching tool are invited to attend a workshop later this month.

Entitled "Taking Blackboard to the Next Level," the workshop will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2003, in UC's Event Pavilion (next to the Faculty Club). Through a combination of plenary presentations and breakout sessions, the workshop will explore the ways in which Blackboard can serve as a platform for a variety of distance-learning applications, whether in a traditional course that is enhanced through technology or in a totally online course.

The keynote presenter for this workshop is Sally Kuhlenschmidt, Professor of Psychology at Western Kentucky University and director of WKU's Center for Teaching & Learning.

The workshop will run from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. and includes a continental breakfast and box lunch for participants. You are welcome to attend for all or only part of the schedule. If you plan to attend, please RSVP via e-mail to Wayne Hall, indicating if you would like breakfast and/or lunch.

This workshop is co-sponsored by the Center for the Enhancement of Teaching & Learning (CET&L), the Faculty Technology Resources Center (FTRC), and the Provost Office Task Force on Distance Learning (Kristi Nelson, Chair).
