Air Force Musicians To Help ILR Celebrate 15 Years
As part of the celebration of its 15th year of existence, UC's Institute for Learning in Retirement will be welcoming Soaring Winds, an ensemble from the United States Air Force Band of Flight, for a special concert on Sunday, April 3, at 3 p.m.
The concert will be held in the auditorium of the Sycamore Junior High School, 5757 Cooper Rd. in Montgomery.
Soaring Winds is made up of brass, woodwind and percussion components, allowing the sophistication of a chamber ensemble alongside the appeal of a brassy march or light-hearted dance band. The lead trumpet player for the group, Staff Sgt. Eric A. Knorr, is a doctoral recipient from CCM.
UC's Institute for Learning in Retirement is now in its 15th year of serving Cincinnati area residents who are 50 and older. Run and taught by volunteers, ILR offers nearly 300 seminars at UC's Uptown campus, Raymond Walters College and four other locations across Greater Cincinnati.
For more information about ILR or the April 3 concert, contact the program's office at 513-556-9186. The concert is free, but you are asked to contact the ILR office and reserve your seats in advance.
