UC Clermont Student Awarded Herb Society Scholarship
UC Clermont sophomore Kristin Varick of Batavia was awarded a $500 scholarship by The Herb Society of Greater Cincinnati for the second consecutive year.
Varick is earning her bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education with a certificate in Horticultural Therapy. Varick actively contributes to her community as a 4-H member working with senior citizens. She created an historic herb garden at Gauche Park in Owensville and is planning an organic vegetable garden this summer with information sheets and mystery games for childrens school groups.
The scholarship selection is based on academic record, essay and enthusiastic recommendations from her professor as well as her employer.
