UC Food Services Serves Up Quality To The Crowds

The University of Cincinnati’s newest residential restaurant, CenterCourt Dining Center, celebrates its grand opening Jan. 30 in the Campus Recreation Center Complex. The following numbers give an idea of the previous volume in UC’s residence hall dining centers:

Over an academic year, University Food Services reports its residential restaurants serve:

  • 300,000 burgers
  • 300,000 grilled cheese sandwiches
  • 160,000 pizzas
  • 700,000 servings of ice cream

They also serve:

  • 19,200 guests per week
  • 2,742 meals per day
  • 639,360 meals a year

CenterCourt and MarketPointe have a combined total of:

  • 215  tables
  • 853 seats
  • 96 workers

UC alum makes her mark in research, service

In 1960, as a young and eager statistician, Joan Reisch graduated from UC’s College of Arts and Sciences, and pursued a career in Texas at the Southwestern Medical Center where she’s held numerous roles as both faculty and staff. This year, Reisch was recognized for her career accomplishments and contributions with the Philanthropist of the Year Award by UC’s Alumni Association. This award is given to an alumnus who has been highly engaged in philanthropic activities with A&S, or has made a significant impact on the college.
