UC Clermont Cougars Runners-Up in USCAA Basketball Tournament
The UC Clermont men's basketball team played Taylor University Fort Wayne for the USCAA Men's Division II National Basketball Championship this weekend in Concord, N.H. The exciting game went down to the wire but the Cougars lost to their rivals 74-68.
Ive never been more proud of a team in my 30 plus years of coaching, said Coach John Hurley. The Cougars played their hearts out, said Dean David H. Devier who attended the tournament. The Cougars were down 40 to 35 at halftime and came back in the second half to get within two points on several occasions. For game recap: http://www.nhti.edu/uscaa/recappage

Highlights of the tournament:
Sophomore Stefan Dunn of Columbus was named to the USCAA All-American Second Team.
Senior Troy Girty of Loveland earned an All-America Honorable Mention.
Freshman Maurice Brown of Deer Park and Dunn were selected to for All-Tournament Team.
Special Competition - Dunn was named Foul Shooting Champ

The University of Cincinnati and its affiliates reached $740 million in research expenditures in 2024, a 6% increase over the previous year and a record for UC. Research partners include UC Health, Cincinnati Children’s, the Cincinnati VA and the University of Cincinnati Research Institute.
