Retired Physics Professor's Tiny Torah Comes Back to Earth

The Torah scroll belonging to retired physics professor Henry Fenichel is small but mighty in its scope.

On the heels of a trip to space aboard the shuttle Atlantis, the 4-inch antique Torah continues to bridge generations as well as cultural and religious differences.

It links scientists with ties to the Holocaust to present-day NASA happenings – and in the process, brings Fenichel together with the family of Col. Ilan Ramon, who died in the explosion of the Columbia shuttle in 2003.

But upon graduation she decided to go into the food and beverage industry, beginning her career at Cargill, Inc. She held various positions — quality assurance chemist, technical services manager, sales manager — while earning a master’s in business administration from Capital University, focusing on international marketing.
