Get the Facts Regarding UC s Possible Semester Conversion
A University of Cincinnati faculty/staff/student task force has been at work since last October to outline a plan to take UC from the quarter system to the semester system. The task force and subcommittees are comprised of faculty, students and staff members totaling about 90 in number carefully planning and researching all issues.
A draft final report by the task force is now available and will be shared with various campus groups before being presented to UC Provost Tony Perzigian for review on May 21.
If, later, the UC Board of Trustees ultimately approves a quarter-to-semester conversion, planning will continue and follow-up preparations will require about three years. The earliest recommended date for any academic conversion to semesters would likely be autumn 2011.
