New Ohio Poll Looks at Approval Ratings for President, Governor
The economy continues to be a huge factor in how Ohioans view the performance of politicians both statewide and nationally, according to the latest Ohio Poll conducted by UC's Institute for Policy Research.
New data just released shows President Barack Obama with a 63 percent approval rating among Ohioans. Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland carries a 56 percent approval rating among Ohioans.
The percentage of Ohioans who approved of Obama's decisions regarding the economy is 56 percent. When asked the same question about Strickland's performance with the economy, the poll showed 48 percent of Ohioans approving of Strickland's performance, while 45 percent disapprove.
When asked specifically about economic conditions, poll respondents by a wide margin selected either "fair" or "poor" as the response that most closely mirrors their views.
