
UC Class of 2012 By the Numbers
The University of Cincinnati will celebrate All-University Commencement on June 8-9 in three ceremonies, with each ceremony including doctoral, masters, bachelors and associate degree candidates. All ceremonies will be held in Fifth Third Arena.

UCs Office of Institutional Research reports that 5,521 students applied for graduation this spring

The number of students applying for graduation (5,521) is up 14 percent over last spring.
The Class of 2012 includes 220 graduates of Cincinnati Public Schools. It also includes 436 graduates from distance learning programs. Furthermore, 3,175 of the graduates took at least one distance-learning course. Out of the total number of degrees, 2,568 are from fields in the science, technology, engineering, math and medical (STEMM) areas.
373 degrees will be awarded

(representing a grade-point-average between 3.60 and 3.7499)
271 degrees will be awarded
magna cum laude
(GPA between 3.75 and 3.8999)
152 degrees will be awarded
summa cum laude
(GPA between 3.9 and 4.0)
The average age of the spring graduate is 27. The youngest graduate is 18. The oldest graduate is 70.
Number of women earning degrees: 3,159 (57.2 percent)
Number of men earning degrees: 2,362 (42.8 percent)
The graduates represent 63 countries, 46 states and 80 Ohio counties. 13.3 percent reflect a minority group; 7.8 percent are African-American; 5.3 percent (291 graduates) are citizens of a country other than the U.S.
Number of graduates who transferred to UC: 1,208
Number of graduates who transitioned to the Uptown campus from UC Blue Ash College or Clermont College to earn baccalaureate degrees: 1,214
