Higher Enrollment + Higher Retention = More UC Graduates

At the University of Cincinnati, enrollment has increased more than 27 percent between 2002 and 2012.

And first- to-second-year retention rates have increased from 77 percent to 86 percent over the last 10 years, with graduation rates increased nearly 15 percent in that time.

The rising rates plus rising enrollment mean more graduates. Commencement ceremonies in spring are at capacity. So, this year, UC is reinstituting an end-of-summer ceremony. The last time UC held August Commencement ceremonies was in 1979.

UC’s rising enrollment:

2012 – 41,970

2011 – 42,421

2010 –41,367

2009 – 39,667

2008 – 37,072

2007 – 36,518

2006 – 35,527

2005 – 35,244

2004 – 34,364

2003 – 33,823

2002 – 32,975
