Princeton Review Places UC Among the Nation s Best Universities
Heres one more example of why students call the University of Cincinnati the #HottestCollege inAmerica.
For the eighth year in a row, The Princeton Review is including UC among the nations best institutions for an undergraduate education. The education services company features UC in the new 2015 edition of its annual college guide, "The Best 379 Colleges, which went on sale today.
Only about 15 percent of the nations 2,500 four-year colleges and only four colleges outside the U.S. are profiled in the book which is The Princeton Review's flagship college guide. It includes detailed profiles of the colleges with rating scores for all schools in eight categories, plus ranking lists of top 20 schools in the book in 62 categories based on The Princeton Review's surveys of 130,000 students attending the colleges.
Student comments in The 2015 Princeton Review praise UC for being
by offering students a balance of educational excellence and real-world experience. As in the past, students also praised UCs cooperative education program (UC is the world founder of cooperative education) for giving them an edge in the job market.
Students again praised UC for its diversity, remarking that there really isnt a typical student. Students can find their niche, be it in LGBTQ groups, ethnic groups or academic intercollegiate groups, quotes the survey. students at UC are open-minded and everyone can find a place to fit in.
The UC profile also had students giving snaps to their UC professors, stating, The professors here have so much life experience in what they are teaching. It makes me trust and respect them more.
UC received a rating score of 92 for fire safety and a rating score of 94 for its green initiatives out of the highest possible score of 99.
The Princeton Profile stated what we see regularly, that its common for UCs students to praise their beautiful campus, innovative designs and spectacular green spaces nestled in an urban setting, says Caroline Miller, associate provost and senior associate vice president for enrollment management. Its always good news to hear how our students rate the quality and impact of the total student experience at UC both in and out of the classroom.
The book cites the common campus exclamation, Go Bearcats!
"UC offers outstanding academics, which is the chief reason we selected it for the book, says Rob Franek, Princeton Review's senior vice president, publisher and author of "The Best 379 Colleges."
We base our choices primarily on data we obtain in our annual surveys of administrators at these schools and at hundreds of other colleges. We take into account input we get from our staff, our 27-member National College Counselor Advisory Board, our personal visits to schools, and the sizable amount of feedback we get from our surveys of students attending these schools. We also work to maintain a wide representation of colleges in the book by region, size, selectivity and character," says Franek.
The Princeton Review's school profiles and ranking lists in "The Best 379 Colleges" are posted at
