CEAS Recognizes Engineers of the Month
To be appointed as an Engineer of the Month is among the highest collegiate honors in the university. Faculty nominate juniors and seniors for one of the 12 spots based on academic standing, participation in campus activities, involvement in research, and success in students co-op placements. The Engineers of the Month represent all departments within the College of Engineering and Applied Science with a commitment to excellence.
This years Engineers of the Month are:
- Aerospace Engineering ACCEND Program
Sophia has researched heavily in the area of robotics programed to reason like humans. She has spent four co-op placements with NASA Jet Propulsion (JPL) in California and hopes to work there full-time after graduation. In addition to her internationally recognized research, Sophia has also taken initiative and started Gluten Free Bearcats after a disruptive diagnosis her early years of college.
