Latino Faculty Association

¡Hola y bienvenidos!

The Latino Faculty Association is a UC organization (est. 2017) dedicated to creating a supportive environment for full-time Latino faculty. The group provides opportunities to develop a stronger campus community and provides a forum for discussion and subsequent actions related to concerns of the Latino population on campus.


Grants Funding Program

The Latino Faculty Association is pleased to announce the first cycle of our Small Grants Funding Program. We will be making awards of up to $1500 to fund research or scholarly activity that will benefit the professional development of Hispanic and Latino faculty. To apply, please send an application (Link to application form) and a CV to Farrah Jacquez ( Applications are due March 1, 2019. Funding decisions will be announced by April 1, 2019. The Perfect Dose Book

The Perfect Dose follows a run-of-the-mill Midwest physician as he throws himself into a headlong fight into the corrupt American healthcare system and those that threaten scientific progress. A new treatment that could save millions of lives around the world has been developed in a nondescript lab in the Midwest, though the path to get it to patients is complicated by an anti-science administration that has swept into all levels of office across the US.

Cincinnati Children’s surgeon helps develop lifesaving technology

Dr. Victor Garcia, a pediatric surgeon who founded the Trauma Center at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, has partnered with researchers in Israel to develop software that can predict when an intensive care patient’s blood pressure becomes dangerously low.

The National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) Foundation announced the participants for the 2018-2019 Faculty Scholars Program. Six faculty members from pharmacy schools and colleges nationwide have been selected as members of this year’s class to complete the educational program designed and executed in collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh.
