IT NEXT: Office 365 Collaboration Tools Project

About the O365 Collaboration Tools Refresh Project

In partnership with IT managers across the university and the Staff Success Center, IT@UC will begin rolling out Office 365 to all staff and faculty, giving you the same advanced, cloud-based collaboration tools that have been available to students for the past few years. Office 365 includes the Office Professional Plus desktop applications that you already know and love, and takes them to the next level by fully integrating them with the Office 365 cloud platform. Now you can collaborate quickly, effectively and on any device, anywhere!

How do I get Office 365?

Over the next few months, your current Outlook mailbox will be migrated to Office 365 (For more information, please view the Rollout Schedule). You will still have full access to your mailbox while the migration is in progress. As soon as your account has been migrated, you will be prompted to sign back into Outlook. Once that happens, the migration is complete and you are ready to use the full Office 365 suite!

Please view the What to Expect During the Office 365 Migration webpage for instructions on how to log back in to your email software after the migration.

All of the new Office 365 tools will become available to you automatically and are accessible in any modern web browser. Just log in via https://mail.uc.edu or https://portal.office.com, and start collaborating! You can also connect your Office 2016 (and soon, Office 2019) desktop/mobile applications to your account for an even more connected, collaborative experience.

How can I learn more about the new Office 365 tools and features?

Start with the Office Training Center for an overview of what each application can do, and how it integrates with the rest of the Office 365 suite.   UCIT will also host some town-hall events where we will demo the new tools – watch the Rollout Schedule page for more information.
