Why study MS in Pharmaceutical Sciences : Pharmacogenomics and Personalized Healthcare?
The Online Master of Science (M.S. in Pharmacogenomics and Personalized Healthcare) program at the University of Cincinnati offers a unique opportunity for students to gain in-depth knowledge about Pharmacogenomics and understand the effects of genomics, environment, patient-specific factors on drug response, allowing for individualized therapy and optimal clinical outcomes. Additionally, the program provides knowledge of state-of-art omics research, innovative Precision Medicine approaches, and implementation of Genomic Medicine
Our two-year program is built around developing skills in these areas through real-world application of course content, industry/medical partnerships, and research-based best practices. This Master’s program is only available online.
Admission Requirements
Prerequisites:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a science field (ex. Biology, Chemisty, Physics, etc)
- At least one semester of undergraduate course work in organic chemistry and calculus, or related fields; or the equivalent as determined by the graduate program
- A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
- For international students, a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) of at least 90 (internet-based) or 235 (computer-based), IELTS- minimum score of 6.5 overall band, or a Duolingo English Test of at least 110 is accepted.
The Online Master of Science (M.S. in Pharmacogenomics and Personalized Healthcare) program at the University of Cincinnati is designed for students seeking to advance their career, or education in the field of pharmacogenomics, medicine, and/or pharmaceuticals. At the pinnacle of these industry segments exist career opportunities as scientific curators, lab technologists/directors, research technologists, and genetic testing positions.

Some careers may require additional training or education.Before the program can certify that a student can graduate, the student must meet the following requirements:
- The student must earn satisfactory grades for all courses required.
- The student must complete the 30 hours required for the degree.
- The student must satisfactorily complete the required capstone project
- The student must satisfactorily complete all applicable college and program requirements specific to the student’s program of study.
- The student must maintain active student status; meaning the student must register for at least one graduate credit in their program in an academic year, after having met minimum degree course/candidacy requirements.
- All grades of NG, I, UP, SP must be satisfactorily resolved to ensure on time graduation.
International students are eligible to apply but please note that this is an online program and not eligible for F-1 Visa status.
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), IELTS or Duolingo test is required of all applicants whose native language is other than English. The minimum score required for admission of at least 90 (internet-based) or 235 (computer-based), IELTS- minimum score of 6.5 overall band, or a Duolingo English Test of at least 110 is accepted. If you have a bachelor degree or higher from a United States university, this requirement will be waived.
