UC*Metro Program Ride Free UC
RIDE FREE UC
Ride Metro at no cost with a UC-sponsored Metro pass. UC students, faculty and staff receive free access to all Metro fixed-route services.
New this fall, Metro Route 70, the UC Connector, will provide direct weekday service between UC Uptown and UC Blue Ash, offering convenient transportation 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday - Friday.

Get Your Ride Free UC Metro Pass
Download the Transit app Transit - the best app for buses and trains, and create an account using your UC email address.
Registration opens August 10th for the Fall Semester of Ride Free UC. Register here for your Ride Free UC fall semseter pass on or after August 10th. Passes will be visible starting August 17th and are valid through January 10, 2027.

Eligibility and Registration
Students
To be eligible to participate in the program, a UC student must:
- Be enrolled in classes AND
- Possess a valid UC Photo Identification Card (from UC Public Safety)
Ride Free UC is available for students who are enrolled in classes at the time of registration.
Employees
To be eligible to participate in the program, a UC employee must:
- Be actively employed AND
- Possess a valid UC Photo Identification Card (from UC Public Safety)
Ride Free UC may only be used by staff/faculty members who are employed by UC at the time of registration.
- Download the Transit app
- Create an account with your UC email address
- If you already have a Transit with EZfare app account using a different email address, you will need to set up a new one using your UC-assigned email address.
- Make sure you enable the EZfare ticketing option that will sync to your Transit account.
- Register here for your Ride Free UC fall semseter pass on or after August 10th. Passes will be visible starting August 17th and are valid through January 10, 2027.
- Please allow up to 5 business days for the UC day passes to appear in your account. You’re ready to ride Metro!
- When you board a Metro bus, tap your ticket barcode on the validator and show the operator your UC student ID.
How to Get Started with the Transit App
- Download the Transit app from your phone's app store (EZfare is included as a feature of Transit; do not download the EZfare app)
- Set up your account using your first and last name and UC email adddress.
- You must use your full email address to receive discount (xxxxxxxx@mail.uc.edu for students or yyyyyyyy@ucmail.uc.edu for employees)
- Click the bottom banner 'Save stats & favorites'
- Create your password
- When the account says 'CONNECTED,' move on to sync EZfare
- Click the EZfare button; your first and last name and email address will appear
- Click 'Provide access'
You will receive a screen saying 'EZfare added to your account.'
