Our Purpose
To respond to the concerns of the university students, faculty and staff. We investigate complaints, refer problems to other university offices, and offer mediation and conflict resolution services.
We are dedicated to cutting through bureaucratic red tape in order to solve problems confidentially and promptly.
The Ombuds Office is not an agent of notice for the University, and we keep no records.

Ombudsperson
One that investigates reported complaints, reports findings, and helps to achieve equitable settlements. An ombudsperson should be guided by the following principles:

Our Community
Any member of the university community can use the OMBUDS OFFICE, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, and parents.
The OMBUDS OFFICE receives more than 2500 inquiries every year.

Feel free to contact our office in a way that is convenient for you. You may phone, walk in, make an appointment, write a letter or send a fax. We have confidential voice mail that can be accessed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
We are open all summer and during quarter breaks.
