The Office of the University Ombuds is a safe place for all members of the UC community to talk about university related conflicts, issues or concerns. The Office of the University Ombuds is not a confidential resource for matters mandated by federal or state law to be reported, such as sexual assault or harassment.  Any disclosures made to Ombuds’ personnel with regard to these matters must be reported to the appropriate University personnel.  The Office of the University Ombuds may still maintain confidentiality with regard to other university related concerns.Our office staff will listen to your concerns and help you identify options for successful resolution.


Interim appointment

After 23 years of dedicated service to the UC community, Lillian Santa Maria has retired as the Director of the Ombuds Office. During her tenure, she supported countless faculty, students and staff through difficult conversations and mediations.  She established the Ombuds Office as a reliable resource on campus.

I am excited to announce that effective June 1, 2017 Kim Fulbright will serve as the Interim University Ombuds.

Kim has served as the Associate Ombuds for over four years and is committed to assisting members of the UC community resolve university-related issues. She received her MA in Women’s Studies from UC and is a trained mediator. She has mediation experience at all levels, and a long service record of collaborating with UC faculty, staff, and students to help overcome conflicts that may impede their success or satisfaction of their Bearcat experience.
