Dear Fellow Bearcats,
As we begin a new academic year, there is so much to look forward to—new faces, fresh opportunities, and a renewed sense of purpose.
We look forward to advancing our core mission of delivering high quality, accessible education for all—within a culture and environment where every Bearcat feels a true sense of belonging and looks out for one another.
Accordingly, what matters most is the work we do together. By strengthening connections across colleges, departments, and disciplines, we can enhance experiences for students, faculty, and staff—and create greater impact across campus and in our broader community. In essence, this new year offers a meaningful opportunity to refine our practices, collaborate more intentionally, and ensure everyone has access to the people, programs, and support they need to thrive.
As we embrace this collective momentum, it’s also important to acknowledge the physical and structural changes that will take place across our campus in response to the Advance Ohio Higher Education Act. Within the next two weeks, you may notice changes to wayfinding signage and building names around campus.
We recognize that returning students and employees may need time to adjust to this changing campus landscape. To support this transition, we’ve launched a Campus Resource Hub, designed to help students, faculty, and staff easily find academic and professional support, wellbeing services, connection opportunities, and more. If you have questions or need help navigating resources, please visit the Hub—or reach out to us directly at community@ucmail.uc.edu.
It's a pleasure to welcome you back. Together, we’ll make this year productive, purposeful, and rewarding.
