Job Description
Our office is seeking students to serve as Parent & Family Ambassadors (PFAs). These students will work varying part-time hours during the Fall semester to support our office’s efforts in partnering with families. If desired, PFAs can start working during the summer of 2024 and can continue during the Spring semester to assist with other projects and events.
Under general supervision of professional staff, PFAs will provide a full range of tasks to assist Parent & Family Programs and Student Affairs, including:
Bearcats Welcome & Move-In
- Assisting in the setup and execution of our events during Bearcats Welcome and Move-In.
- Attending our Bearcats Welcome and Move-In events to represent our office.
- Distributing promotional materials to families and providing guidance to families to help them understand how to make the most of their experience at UC.
- Mingling with families, answering questions, and providing directional guidance.
Family Weekend
- Assisting in the planning and development of Family Weekend events.
- Support marketing and promotional efforts to encourage registration.
- Assisting in the setup and execution of Family Weekend events.
- Attending Family Weekend events to represent our office.
- Staffing the check-in and registration table.
- Providing guidance to families to help them understand the schedule of events and how to make the most of their experience at UC.
- Mingling with families and answering questions.
Other Duties
- Assisting with the PFP Care package process.
- Providing a welcoming and friendly environment for all UC families.
- Performing clerical tasks to support Parent & Family Programs.
- Assisting with tasts for the greater Division of Student Affairs.
- Lifting and carrying of objects under 25 lbs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be an active, undergraduate degree-seeking student in good academic and judicial/disciplinary standing who is returning for the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.9.
- Must be available to attend all dates listed below, including trainings, Bearcats Welcome & Move-In activities, and Family Weekend.
- Positive attitude and enthusiasm for UC and being a Bearcat!

Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of UC programs and resources and/or a willingness to learn.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Reliable, flexible, and trustworthy.
- Computer, mobile, and tablet skills.
Benefits & Compensation
As part of this exciting opportunity, PFAs will receive:
- $10.00 per hour. High performing PFAs will be extended the opportunity to return next year at an increased hourly rate.
