Office of General Counsel
The University of Cincinnati is transitioning to a new contracting system known as Purchasing and Contracting Exchange (PACE). All contract managers will need to be using the new system on or before April 13, 2020. No new submissions in ESM will be accepted thereafter, but access to existing contracts in ESM will be available until June 1, 2020.
Training for PACE is being conducted through the University of Cincinnati Staff Success Center. Please log into Success Factors for upcoming training dates and updated information on when and how those sessions are being conducted due to COVID-19. If you need further information regarding accessing PACE remotely, please reach out to PACE Support at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please check out the Online Contract Management page for information about mandatory training prior to using either system.
The Office of General Counsel is dedicated to supporting the missions of the university, especially as articulated in its strategic plan UC2019►, by providing timely, strategic and creative strategies to solve legal problems and to take advantage of legal opportunities. A central goal of the office is to be proactive rather than reactive. The staff of the Office of General Counsel offers preventative counsel and training to facilitate informed decision-making and to anticipate and manage legal risks before they become problems that threaten the financial, operational, strategic or reputational interests of the university. The office accomplishes this goal by developing a deep understanding of the operations and mission of the university, and by cultivating close, productive and collaborative working relationships within the university community and in the larger community that the university serves. In advancing and protecting the interests of the university, the office consistently exercises professional competence and adheres to the highest standards of professional ethics and integrity.
