Worth the wait

Paul Blom, a 93-year-old World War II veteran, attended UC in the 1940s and ‘50s, but fell a few classes short of earning a bachelor’s degree. More than 60 years later, his daughter reached out to UC to see if he could be conferred an honorary degree. After some investigation, UC officials discovered that Blom had received more than enough credits to qualify for an associate’s degree through UC Blue Ash. He received his degree and earned national headlines by participating in UC’s commencement ceremony.
