MSG Wilkerson Biography

Master Sergeant Zachary S. Wilkerson
Senior Military Instructor

MSG Zachary S. Wilkerson was born in Dallas, Texas and entered the Army in April 2005. He was attached to E Battery 1-19 Field Artillery in Ft. Sill, OK for Basic Training. In July 2005, he was attached to A Battery 1-78 Field Artillery where he would graduate as a 13M Multiple Launch Rocket System Crewmember.

1SG Wilkerson has served in all Multiple Launch Rocket System duty positions and served as a Palletized Loading System (PLS) Operator, AN/TP-Q36 Firefinder Radar Section Chief, HIMARS Platoon Sergeant, 13M Professional Development NCO (HRC), 13M Career Management (FAPO) NCO, and as a Battery First Sergeant. He has served in the 2nd Battalion 5th Field Artillery Regiment; 2nd Battalion 4th Field Artillery Regiment; 1st Battalion (HIMARS) 94th Field Artillery Regiment; Field Artillery Branch, Human Resources Command (HRC), the Field Artillery Proponent Office (FAPO), Fires Center of Excellence; 1st Battalion 30th Field Artillery Regiment; and 1st Battalion 78th Field Artillery Regiment.

1SG Wilkerson has two deployments in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation New Dawn and one deployment in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.

1SG Wilkerson military education includes the Warriors Leaders Course and the Advanced Leaders Course where he graduated as the Distinguished Honor Graduate (WLC) and the Honor Graduate (ALC), Senior Leader’s Course (SLC), Master Leaders Course (MLC), Master Resilience Trainer Course, Combat Life Savers Course, Combatives Level 1, Master Driver Course, Radar Maintenance Course, Air Load Planner’s Course,  SHARP Course and Commander and First Sergeant Course.

1SG Wilkerson’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2nd OLC), Army Accommodation Medal (3rd OLC), Army Achievement Medal (9th OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (6th Award),  National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Medal (Numeral 5), Noncommissioned Officer Professional Service Ribbon (Numeral 4), Iraq Campaign Medal (Star 5), Operation Inherent Resolve medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
