Your Handshake Profile

Updating your profile is the first thing you should do in Handshake. This allows the system to send you information that is relevant to your interests.

In addition, by completing your profile you are 50% more likely to have an employer reach out to you, compared to students who don’t have a complete profile.

Basic Profile

If you are a current student, your basic profile information is imported from Catalyst. You can edit your Name, Class Standing, Education, Work Experience, Organizations/Extracurriculars, Courses, Projects, Get to Know Me, Skills, Documents, and Social Links.

  1. Click your picture thumbnail on the top navigation bar of your homepage.
  2. Select My Profile.
  3. To edit a section, click the pencil icon.
  4. You also have the option to make your profile visible or hidden to employers on the right side of the page. Hiding your profile from employers means they will not be able to interact with you.
