Campus Recreation

The Campus Recreation Center is so much more than just a fitness facility. It is a place for students to connect and interact with friends in a safe and positive environment. It is a community where they can work out, reduce stress, try new activities, relax and have fun.

Movement and recreational activities help students improve their mental and physical health, add balance into their lives, reduce fatigue, restore energy and improve self-confidence.

Whether you’re new to fitness or a seasoned athlete, looking for a place to exercise or meet up with a friend, Campus Recreation’s 200,000 square feet of space has something for everyone.

Things to do

Fitness is at the core of what we do. Students can take advantage of cardio and weight training equipment, group fitness classes, an Olympic-sized lap pool, our functional fitness space or new 30-minute workout area.

Campus Recreation isn’t just about working out, though. Build your community by participating in intramural sports, hanging out in the climbing wall, going for a dip in the leisure pool and hot tub, play basketball or join one of our campus-wide special events.

Not sure where to begin? Sign up for a Fitness Floor Orientation. We also have personal trainers. A map of the facility is available online.

Our Message for Families

College is a time for students to become independent and develop healthy habits that will last a lifetime. More than ever before, it is important for students to stay both mentally and physically healthy.

Regular exercise helps alleviate stress, reduce feelings of depression and anxiety, improves quality of sleep and promotes overall health.  Campus Recreation can help students reach academic success through physical and mental well-being. Healthy UC, a campus-wide, collaborative group also organizes student well-being events.

We hope you will encourage your student to make time to regularly utilize the Campus Recreation Center when they are on campus. Follow us on social media @UCCampusRec for the latest updates on our programs. Stay healthy!
