UC HR Leadership

Heather Cox, Senior Associate Vice President for Human Resources and Chief Human Resources Officer, leads UC HR’s strategic initiatives to support current employees and those seeking to build their careers at UC. Appointed as CHRO in 2023, Heather previously served as Executive Director of Human Resources for UC’s College of Medicine.

In her role, Heather is deeply committed to advancing UC HR’s mission, vision, and values by empowering employees with the tools, resources, and opportunities they need to thrive. Under her leadership, UC HR has expanded its communication strategy with a social media presence, enhanced internal and external website content, and the launch of a new HR podcast — all designed to meet employees where they are and empower them to access the tools and opportunities essential for their success.

Heather is also leading major strategic initiatives, including the implementation of a new HR cloud system to modernize and streamline HR services, and the development of a comprehensive staff job architecture framework to provide greater career clarity, consistency, and advancement opportunities across the University.
