Positioning Learning Transfer as an Affective, Material and Lifelong Act
Drawing on three interview studies and 122 survey responses, Positioning Learning Transfer as an Affective and Lifelong Act investigates how adults write, learn, and transfer knowledge after school. Leveraging affect theory, I discuss the role of emotion and identity as mediators of transfer across a person’s life. This dissertation concludes with methods teachers can utilize to support students in becoming lifelong learners and writers.
