On Socialization and Sexual Values in the United States

This project explores the connection between sexual values learned in the home, and social and political attitudes held in adulthood. Analyzing the data of 3,284 US adults, a new index of sexual values is developed. This study shows how sexual values are transmitted from caregiver to child. This analysis is then extended to understanding the influence of sexual values on a number of political issues ranging from abortion care to sex education in schools to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
