From Counter-Terrorism to Counter-Narcotics
This project examines the United States’ expanding use of military force against transnational drug-trafficking networks, analyzing how legal doctrines originally formulated for counter-terrorism migrate into counter-narcotics policy. Drawing on international relations, socio-legal, and critical security studies scholarship, it investigates how legal adaptations reshape understandings of armed conflict, executive authority, and the boundaries of lawful state action.
