UC is proud to have earned the Campus Prevention Network (CPN) Seal of Prevention for best-in-class prevention and wellness programming. The seal reflects UC's commitment to making a measurable impact across critical areas including sexual assault, alcohol and drug misuse, and mental health. Only ~10% of colleges and universities in the country achieved this recognition. At UC, we consider this investment in prevention central to our mission and preparing you for success on campus and beyond.

Any students who want to join a registered student organization will need to complete all four trainings before joining.

As such, Bearcats are invited to join UC’s conversation on making responsible choices as an adult and member of our community by completing the following online training programs:

  • AlcoholEdu
  • Sexual Assault Prevention
  • Mental Well-Being
  • Hazing Prevention

The courses are fun, engaging, and speak to a broad range of experiences. In completing the trainings, you will have the opportunity to solve real life problems; expand your knowledge of consent, alcohol, mental wellness, and bystander intervention; and learn about UC's policies and resources.

Content Warning

For many people, reading about heavy topics can stir up personal memories and strong emotions. People without experiences of trauma, violence, or discrimination can also be affected by these issues for a variety of reasons. In order to mitigate the impact of these discussions on people who are adversely impacted by these issues, we use content warnings, just so everyone can get a heads up about what's to come. That way, no one is caught off-guard and we can all prepare ourselves to fully participate.

A content warning does not mean that we want you to avoid taking the trainings. On the contrary, we want to make sure everyone completing the course has what they need to engage to the best of their ability without having to come out as a survivor in order to do so. We believe the onus to give you a heads up and the opportunity to prepare yourself is on us.

Trainings prominently feature open and frank discussions of the following potentially triggering or upsetting content:

  • stalking
  • sexual violence
  • intimate partner violence
  • drug abuse and dependence
  • casual sex
  • sexual harassment
  • alcohol use
  • drug use
  • partying
  • alcohol poisoning and overdose information
  • sex and alcohol use
  • anxiety
  • depression
  • suicide
  •

  • hazing scenarios
  • hazing impacts on mental health
  • hazing and alcohol/drug use
  • death
  •

There are also a number of specific content warnings embedded in the course before discussions of particularly sensitive material. You will be able to skip some of these parts of the training.

We understand that these issues can have a strong impact on a lot of different people. For that reason, you have the option to change how you will participate if you anticipate being unable to engage with this course as is. Students who are not able or comfortable completing the Sexual Assault Prevention training can meet with Women Helping Women's on-campus advocates, who are a confidential resource. Please request an alternative training.
