Guided by our divisional strategic plan, championing the student experience is central to our mission and values. We are fierce Bearcat supporters - advocating for your needs and well-being, and creating programs and spaces where you can thrive.

Our Programs

We offer over 20 comprehensive resources and programs focused on engagement opportunities, leadership and skill development, holistic student well-being, student advocacy, and academic support.

Student Affairs supports your skill development in- and outside the classroom. Whether you are living in the residence halls or off-campus, our programs can help you build important skills that support your academic and personal journey beyond graduation.

Advocacy, Care, and Crisis Response

The Dean of Students Office serves as a central advocate for you, providing support through crises, emergencies, conflict resolution, and care referrals. Through coordinated care and case management teams, Student Affairs works to identify concerns early and connect you to campus and community resources that promote your success and well-being.

Community and Care for Others

We promote a respectful and supportive campus environment through initiatives such as Bearcats Got Your Back, Be a Good Neighbor, bystander education, and community standards. We encourage you to take care of yourself and others on-campus and in our surrounding communities while promoting a culture of accountability and civic responsibility.

Holistic Student Support and Well-Being

We offer mental health and well-being resources (Counseling & Psychological Services and Student Wellness Center) in addition to care coordination through the Dean of Students Office (e.g., emergency funding, food and basic needs assistance) to ensure you have access to timely support during critical moments of transition or distress.

Engagement and Leadership Development

Bearcats Bound Orientation for incoming freshman class

We foster student connections and engagement through student activities, signature programs, and campus traditions, such as Bearcats Welcome, Family Weekend, and Commencement. These experiences help you get connected to the Bearcat community, build relationships, and celebrate key milestones throughout your journey. Leadership development, student organizations and involvement opportunities, and civic engagement initiatives further support your personal and professional growth.
