Every Wednesday will offer various highlights of programming and resources for students, faculty and staff to engage in their well-being. Collaborations will be with UC offices, organizations and community partners. All UC bearcats are welcome to participate!

Health and Wellness Courses for Summer and Fall Semesters 

Interested in taking a class about Healthy Cooking, Stress Management, Women's Health Issues, Lifestyle Health and Fitness, and/or integrative health?

Enroll in a Health, Fitness and Leisure (HFL) or Health Promotion and Education (HPE) Class offer by CECH. Classes are available from 1-3 credit hours. To find a full list of HFL courses, visit Onestop.

The Center for Integrative Health and Wellness offers a new Undergraduate Certificate and Minor in Integrative Health with classes available to all who are interested in integrative health. Visit Integrative Health and Wellness for a full list of offerings. Interested learners can enroll in stand-alone courses or plan to complete the certificate or minor track.  All learners (e.g., UC students, community members, health care workers) are welcome! Contact Kelly Lyle at kelly.lyle@uc.edu for more information.

Faculty and staff can take advantage of Tuition Remission towards these courses. The informational page is on the Bearcats Landing intranet and requires a UC login.

Explore a Walking Map Route

Did you know exercising 10-30 minutes a day can lower your risk for heart disease by up to 70% according to the Mayo Clinic?! We will be exploring one of UC’s many walking routes starting in the University Hall lobby on Wednesday, July 27 from 2-2:30 p.m. We encourage you to move throughout your day and use this as a brain break! All are welcome. Pre-registration is highly encouraged, session will be cancelled if less than 5 people are registered. Faculty and staff, sign up on SuccessFactors.

Techniques for Managing Your Stress 

Join All One Health and Impact Solutions and My Life Expert, UC’s Employee Assistance Plan, Wednesday, August 10th from 1:30-2:30 p.m. online via GoTo Webinar. All are welcome!

Stress is a national epidemic and as the summer fades, and another school year begins, stress tends to peak. In this working session we will discuss and practice mindfulness, breathing techniques and other strategies to take control of your stress. Presented by MyLifeExpert with Impact Solutions, employee assistance plan.

Mindful Walk with Healthy UC

Join Healthy UC, UC's well-being collaborative, for an afternoon mindful stroll around the Uptown campus, starting at the Campus Recreation Center's breezeway. All students, faculty and staff are welcome! No pre-registration needed - just come and enjoy! Please meet promptly at the Campus Recreation Center's breezeway on Monday, August 15th at noon. The walk will be about an hour. You are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and bring water. The walk will be cancelled if there is inclement weather. This event is part of UC’s Welcome Week.

Fitness Walk with Healthy UC

Join Campus Recreation and Healthy UC, UC's well-being collaborative, for an afternoon stroll around the Uptown Campus. Explore UC while mixing in movement. All students, faculty and staff are welcome! No pre-registration needed - just come and enjoy! Please meet promptly at the Campus Recreation Center's breezeway on Tuesday, August 16th at noon. The walk will be about an hour. You are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and bring water. The walk will be held inside the Campus Recreation Center if there is inclement weather. This event is part of UC’s Welcome Week.

Adult Tap beginner/intermediate class

This fall, CCM Prep is offering a beginner/intermediate Adult Tap class designed for those who have either been away from tap for an extended time or who want to move their basic skills forward. The class will consist of tap warm-ups, floor exercises, and choreography and meets Saturdays starting on August 20 through December 10, 2022 from 10-10:55 a.m. at CCM. To register, visit ADULT TAP. The cost of the class is $190/semester, plus a 10% discount for UC and UC Health faculty/staff using the coupon code, “BEARCAT2022”.

Mid Day Stretching

Ballet Basics beginner class

Ballet Basics is another CCM Prep class and is a beginning ballet class for adults. In this class, you learn basic ballet vocabulary, the importance of the discipline involved in the learning of classical ballet and proper ballet etiquette. This class meets Thursdays starting August 25 through December 8, 2022 from 6-7:30 p.m. at CCM. Pickleball at the Campus Recreation Center

Did you know there are pickleball courts right on the Uptown campus?! UC Campus Recreation members can use the courts at no charge and borrow paddles and balls. Learn more about pickleball and/or ask the Member Services desk.
