Contact and Support
This site is your starting point for creating accessible digital content at UC. It is designed to answer most “how do I do this accessibly?” questions and give you concrete steps you can take on your own.
There is no single central office that can explain everything or “do” accessibility for all content. Content creators are responsible for the accessibility of what they publish, and leadership is responsible for setting expectations and providing time, tools, and support. The Accessibility Network and central teams focus on processes, tools, and complex or recurring issues, not one‑off fixes for individual files or pages.
Before you reach out for help, first read the relevant Core Concepts and Content Formats on this site, review any Product & Software guidance that matches your tools, and try applying the recommendations to your own content. If you have done that and still cannot move forward, use the contacts below.
Student Accommodations
Accessibility questions tied to a specific student’s approved accommodation should go to Accessibility Resources. This includes captioning and communication access for individual students, use of the Accessibility Resources Kaltura MediaSpace site, and other accommodation‑related support.
If you are improving course content more broadly—beyond one student—use the guidance provided on the Course Content or Canvas pages. For ongoing course‑level work, your college’s instructional design or accessibility contacts and captioning representative are the best next resources.
Policies & Institutional Responsibilities
Questions about UC’s overall accessibility policies, institutional responsibilities, and how the university organizes its accessibility work should go to the Executive Director for Accessibility, who also serves as the EIT Coordinator.
The Executive Director for Accessibility is responsible for administering university policies, procedures, programs, and efforts related to access for individuals with disabilities. This role coordinates institutional resources, tracks and guides the remediation of issues related to accommodation provision, electronic and information technology (EIT) access, and physical campus access.
Technical Issues With Platforms & Tools
If you are having technical problems with a platform or tool—such as Canvas, Kaltura, Microsoft 365, Adobe products, or other UC systems—the right place to start is the DTS Service Desk.
