Employee Benefits

The University of Cincinnati is an urban public university with an environment of academic excellence fostered by our core values, innovation, impact, and inclusion. We are committed to offering competitive benefits plans that maximize our ability to recruit, retain, reward and motivate highly-qualified and diverse faculty and staff. The university also recognizes the value of a work environment that is engaging, supportive, and collaborative, and is dedicated to the growth and development of each individual.

UC offers a wide array of excellent, affordable benefit options to meet the needs of you and your family. Employee benefits at UC are determined based on your job type, the number of hours you'll be working and whether or not you're represented by a union.

Staff Groups

Staff efforts keep the university running smoothly through positions that support teaching efforts, maintain campus services, provide office support, and conduct research.

Faculty Groups

We boast a 16:1 student-to-faculty ratio with full-time professors and adjuncts internationally recognized for innovative teaching and research.

Unions

The university has nine collective bargaining agreements (CBA). These agreements address the wages, hours, and working conditions for employees in the bargaining unit. Some groups have collective bargaining agreements that may impact benefits.

Changing your Benefits

Changes can be made to your elections within 45 days from your start date, during annual enrollment in November of each year, or if you've had an IRS-approved life event ("qualified status change") and notify the UC Benefits Office within 31 days of the event.
