Communication Access Team

The Communication Access Team, comprising American Sign Language/English interpreters and Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) writers, facilitates communication access for d/Deaf and hard of hearing students. We ensure full and equal participation in academic and campus life by tailoring services to individual needs. CAT collaborates with faculty, allowing combined service selection and adjustments as required.  

Services Offered

  • ASL/English Interpreting (PSE, SEE, and other ASL variations)

  • CART Services

  • Realtime Services (verbatim captioning for in-person/virtual events)

  • Transcript Only Services (verbatim/meaning-for-meaning transcripts) 

  • Closed Captioning for course videos and media

Interpreter/CART/Captioning Request Form

To request an interpreter, Realtime transcription, or captions for an event that is outside of regularly scheduled classes complete one of the following:

Complete the Semester Service(s) Request Form prior to the start of each new semester to schedule CAT services for your regularly scheduled classes and activities.
