Concert & Jazz Requirements

Auditions are accepted on a rolling basis for Fall and Spring Concert and Jazz Bands. Submit ASAP for maximum consideration!

Concert Band

Winds and String Bass

IF YOU ARE ALREADY IN ANY OF THE BEARCAT BANDS AND YOU WILL BE PLAYING THE SAME INSTRUMENT, contact Mr. Nichter directly at nichtecj@ucmail.uc.edu.

IF YOU WILL BE NEW TO THE BEARCAT BANDS OR IF YOU WILL BE PLAYING A DIFFERENT INSTRUMENT, record yourself in one take performing an entire part of The Stars and Stripes Forever by John Philip Sousa (PDF and reference recording at the link).

  1. Upload the video to your UC OneDrive or other cloud location.
  2. Be certain the privacy settings will allow it to be viewed by others.
  3. “Share” a link from within the site, don’t copy and paste your web browser URL.
  4. Share that link with Mr. Nichter at nichtecj@ucmail.uc.edu.
  5. When you email Mr. Nichter, share which concert band(s) you are interested in (Fall/Spring) as well as if you are interested in the Spring Wind Ensemble.
    • The Spring Wind Ensemble is a more select ensemble and additional audition requirements will be shared with you.

Percussion

WHETHER YOU ARE ALREADY IN ANY OF THE BEARCAT BANDS OR IF YOU WILL BE NEW, email Mr. Beltran at beltraas@ucmail.uc.edu to introduce yourself and to schedule time for him to get to know your current playing ability.

Jazz Band
