The application for University Housing and other related deadlines typically follow a cycle each year. The table below is intended to help you plan, whether you are still deciding to come to UC, you've already confirmed admission, you're transferring or you're a current resident.

Available Communities

Explore our housing communities sorted by availability for first-year and returning students. Review the list to identify the communities you are eligible for based on your student status.

Incoming first-year students will be assigned to their building, room and bed space in one of the following communities:

  • Calhoun Hall
  • Campus Recreation Center Hall
  • Dabney Hall
  • Daniels Hall
  • Marian Spencer Hall
  • Morgens Hall
  • Schneider Hall
  • Scioto Hall
  • Siddall Hall
  • Stratford Heights
  • The Eden
  • Turner Hall
  • U Square Apartments
  • University Park Apartments 

Current residents seeking to continue living in university housing will be able to select from the following communities:

  • 101 East Corry
  • Bellevue Gardens
  • CP Cincy
  • The Eden
  • Jefferson House
  • The Union on Taft
  • University Edge

All other students (upperclass students not currently residing in housing, transfer students,  etc.) seeking placement in university housing are eligible to join the housing waitlist. After the returning residents process concludes, university housing will extend offers to apply but on available space in the following communities: 

  • 101 East Corry
  • Bellevue Gardens
  • CP Cincy
  • The Eden
  • Jefferson House
  • The Union on Taft
  • University Edge

First-Year Application Process

Congratulations on your acceptance to the University of Cincinnati! As you embark on this exciting journey, securing your place in our vibrant on-campus community is the next crucial step.

July 11 Deadline to attend Bearcats Bound Orientation to be eligible to receive your housing assignment

Must be enrolled for at least three (3) credit hours to retain housing assignment

First-Year Applications for Fall 2025

Below is the anticipated schedule for the 2025-26 housing application for incoming first-year students in the Fall 2025 semester. 
 
Returning students seeking information about the 2025-26 application process should visit the Renewals page for application process information.

Access The Housing Application

  • Starting January 21, access the housing application after accepting Admission to the university.
  • First-year students residing outside a 50-mile radius of the Uptown campus are required to live in university housing.

Complete Application Steps

  • Submit and verify general information through the user-friendly application interface.
  • Select your meal plan; the All-Access meal plan is mandatory for first-year residential students.
  • First-year residential status is determined by your Tuition Guarantee Cohort in Catalyst, not college credit hours earned.
  • Accept Housing Terms & Conditions.
  • Submit a non-refundable application fee. Applications are not considered complete until the fee is paid.
  • Allow up to three business days after accepting admission for access to the housing application.
  • May 1 by 12:00 a.m. (midnight) is the priority deadline for submitting a housing application. Students who submit after this date are still eligible for housing, but may be subject to the waitlist process.

Special Considerations

  • If you're under 18, review the Proxy Signature video.
  • Pell-eligible students may qualify for a fee waiver. Contact university housing if your application shows the fee as required.

Spring 2025 Housing Application

Access The Housing Application

  • The Spring 2025 Only application is for students who do not require housing during the Fall 2024 semester. 
  • Beginning October 1, access the housing application upon accepting admission to the university.
  • First-year students residing outside a 50-mile radius of the main campus are required to live in university housing.

  • Allow up to three business days after accepting admission for access to the Housing application.

Special Considerations

  • Pell-eligible students may qualify for a fee waiver. Contact university housing if your application shows the fee as required.
  • If you applied in the fall 2024 semester without receiving a housing assignment, do not pay the application fee again. Contact our office to have the fee waived.
  • The spring application has no set deadline and remains open as long as space permits. Late submissions are eligible but may enter the waitlist process if the application closes.

Assignment Timeline

  • Beginning December 18, students applying for spring semester 2025 housing will receive information regarding their specific assignment.
  • Assignments will continue until move-in, accounting for cancellations and available space.
  • January 12, 2025, marks the spring move-in date. Students needing early move-in should submit an Early Arrival Request form found in the housing portal.

Transfer & Regional Campus Waitlist

Transfer students and students attending regional campuses (UC Blue Ash or UC Clermont) who have not already applied for university housing are eligible to join the housing waitlist by signing into the housing portal

University Housing will make offers to these students as space becomes available. We are not able to guarantee assignments to students on the waitlist. You are encouraged to visit our Rentals & Leasing page for assistance exploring other available housing options.
