James Glenn, President's Quality Service Award Winner

Got a glitch that’s brought your audio-visual presentation to a screeching halt? Or worse yet, it can’t even begin? On the UC Medical Center campus, the man to call for assistance is Jim Glenn, a member of the AIT&L customer service team.

"He’ll fix it and get you up and running in no time,” says Becky Trippel of the College of Medicine Dean’s Office. Most of his work is devoted to making sure that lectures for first- and second-year medical students run smoothly. That involves a lot of systems planning and design to make facilities as user-friendly as possible, but emergencies do happen.

"Jim goes above and beyond in assisting the staff and faculty at the College of Medicine. He solves audio problems and computer hook-up problems on the spot,” says Janet Rosing of the pathology department.

Adds Mary Ann Schmidt of psychiatry: “Jim is very dependable and competent. He shares his extensive knowledge freely and explains how, why and when things will or will not work. Numerous times, he has supplied out-of-town speakers with the correct equipment or salvaged lost presentations. Jim does his job in a quiet, friendly and efficient manner.”
