VIDEO: UC Homecoming 5K a Soggy Success
UC’s third-annual Homecoming 5K walk/run to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation started off with a light rain shower, but it didn’t dampen the spirits in a team effort to grant the wishes of some seriously ill children in the Cincinnati USA region.
Vicki Calonge, UC assistant director of Student Activities and Leadership Development (SALD), says 515 people signed up for Friday’s 5K and pledged over $7,400.
The event was also geared toward raising spirit around the weekend Homecoming game and featured the UC Bearcat, Coach Mick Cronin, UC Cheerleaders, “C-Paw” face-painting and a Bearcat craft corner.
The 5K ended with a celebratory dinner that included awards for individual participants and teams that raised the most money and had the most UC spirit.
