UC Clermont Student Competes in National Cisco NetRiders Competition
Gurdeep Singh, a second year Cisco student from UC Clermont College, qualified to compete in the third round of the Cisco Academy NetRiders North American Competition on Dec. 6.
The NetRiders Competition is an annual competition held for Cisco Academy students throughout the world. UC Clermonts Cisco Academy participated in the North America competition, which includes all of the United States and Canada.
On Dec. 6, the third round of the NetRiders Post-Secondary competition took place. Of the 84 Round 3 competitors there were a total of six students from Ohio, one of those being from Clermont College. This competition brought together the most talented students across the US and Canada.
Placement by a Clermont student in round three is a major accomplishment -- unfortunately, our student, Gurdeep Singh, was unable to compete due to a winter storm. The competition was set to begin at 1 p.m. and as luck would have it, a winter storm forced Clermont to shut down at exactly 1 p.m. on that day. The contest went on. UC Clermont College Cisco Academy extends their congratulations to all the students who competed and commends all the hard work that went into their studies. We are extremely proud of Gurdeep Singh for making it to round three and wish our sincerest condolences that the weather kept him from being able to complete the competition, said Cindi Scibelli, Assistant Professor of Cisco/CSST.
