UC Provost Visits China for JCI Welcome Day
JCI was created through a partnership between the University of Cincinnati and Chongqing University (CQU) to establish the first cooperative education program of its kind in China.
JCI gives students an opportunity to gain a top-notch engineering education along with real-world industry experience through cooperative placements.
On September 24th JCI opened its doors to 77 new students to who are ready and eager to kick off the new school year. 49 students of the incoming class are majoring in electrical engineering while the remaining 28 are majoring in mechanical engineering.
The welcoming ceremonies included a greeting from Provost Davenport and Trustee Richardson as well as useful information about the university, the UC College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS), and its respective fields of mechanical and electrical engineering.
Four SOL's training at UC
(SOLs)who visited UC back in July helped make welcome day a great success. The four CQU students, CI, Rui He (Jack), Xiaoyu Song (Shorey), Lingmeeng Wang (Jane Lemon), Yuchan Yuan (Lotus), spent a month in July at UC learning how to lead orientation for their very own welcome day back home.
After their training earlier this summer, the four SOLs were able to provide a warm welcome to all 77 new JCI students. The incoming students enjoyed receiving all kinds of UC apparel including t-shirts and pins to sport Bearcat pride as they begin their first term at JCI.
