Team Greer Formed to Support College of Nursing Dean Glazer
University of Cincinnati (UC) Blue Ash Dean Cady Short-Thompson, PhD, has formed Team Greer in the Susan G. Komen Greater Cincinnati Race for the Cure to show support for College of Nursing Dean Greer Glazer, PhD. Glazer was diagnosed earlier this year with breast cancer, and after receiving successful treatment this summer, will return to the College of Nursing next month.
"I formed Team Greer as a tangible way to show support and friendship for my dear colleague, Greer," says Short-Thompson. "When I learned of her diagnosis, I felt compelled to do something to demonstrate our care and concern for her health. The fact that she is now cancer-free and, in true Greer fashion, has healed so effectively that she can join us in the race, exceeded what I had ever imagined."
Short-Thompson has registered for the race and also donated money in honor of Glazer. Glazer plans to walk in the Race for the Cure and would love to see fellow runners and walkers join Team Greer.
The race will take place on the Cincinnati riverfront on Saturday, Sept. 24.
- Registration and expo open: 4 p.m.
- Celebration of Hope: 5:45 p.m.
- Clock-timed 5K: 6 p.m.
- Walk begins: 6:15 p.m.
More information about registering for the race, joining Team Greer and making a donation can be found here.
