New Portal, More Incentives for Be Well UC in 2018


All UC employees enrolled in medical benefits are encouraged to log in to the new Be Well UC portal. This year’s increased wellness incentive includes a $50 engagement bonus for logging in and participating in 10 out of 12 months this year. Other expanded features include new workshops on more than 30 health and wellness topics and the ability to speak with a dietitian or trainer directly from your personalized portal page.

2018 is the year to Be Well, as you can earn up to $300 for working toward wellness from the Be Well UC program. The new incentive structure has several key features to note:
  • Step 1: Earn your “First $50” for completing a Health Assessment and the Tobacco Affidavit within the portal. This incentive will be paid out quarterly and is required to earn the Step 2 incentive and the engagement bonus (and takes just 10-15 minutes to complete).
  • Step 2: You can begin working toward on your Step 2 incentive immediately, earning up to 200 points, which is $200 on your January 2019 paycheck as long as Step 1 is completed. Activities are listed on the incentive structure document (link above) and built within the portal. Note – there are many activities Be Well will load for you on a monthly basis so you won’t forget to log your points!
  • Engagement BONUS, worth $50, is available to those who actively engage 10 out of 12 months in the portal and have completed Steps 1 and 2. We want to see you stay well all year round and hope this reminder will help!
The new portal, powered by Alyfe Wellbeing Strategies, provides new features to help keep you engaged throughout the year. A welcome email will be sent directly to all eligible employees the week of Jan 8 to help you get logged in for the first time. Download the User Guide and consider setting an Outlook calendar reminder monthly to check out features like:
  • Talk to dietitian.
  • Talk to a trainer.
  • Select a meal plan, log your food and print shopping lists.
  • Select an exercise plan, log your exercise and view exercise videos.
  • Enroll in wellness workshops that you can complete at your own pace, worth up to 40 points each.
  • Utilize discussion boards to share recipes and health tips.
  • Take advantage of the health library to learn about health issues, decision tools and use the symptom checker.
