Anna de la O

Anna Armao

Anna de la O obtained her BA in English with a dual concentration in Creative Writing and Rhetoric and Professional Writing and an additional certificate in Copyediting & Publishing. She graduated cum laude in 2023 with Department High Honors, as a member of the University Honors Program and the Dean's List every semester, and as an awarded Cincinnatus Presidential Scholar and Arts & Sciences Honors Scholar. She was named a Fulbright Semi-Finalist for the first time in 2025 and has won a handful of prizes for her writing over the years. It was during her time at UC, taking classes in ASL and Disability Literature, that her passion for disability literary and cultural studies was sparked. With the support of Fulbright, Anna intends to combine her research in disability studies with her professional background and connections in book publishing to improve accessibility and disability representation in the global publishing industry.

Anna worked as an editorial intern at a nonprofit literary press for one year during undergrad, and for two years as a copyeditor at an independent publisher following graduation. She is currently living in Seattle while working as a freelance copyeditor and at a local school, and recently founded a theatrical production corporation. In her free time, Anna reads, collects vintage books, and organizes and staffs high-production events in the US and Europe.
