2023-24 Award Winners

Solomon Carr is a transfer student who is pursuing his bachelor’s degree in Arabic language and culture. He is a recipient of the Critical Language Scholarship to study Arabic.

Max Kemats is a second-year student in the Lindner College of Business pursuing a BA in Economics with minors in Public Health and a certificate in Innovation and Design Thinking. He will be a UK Summer Institutes Scholar in Scotland this summer.

Carrie Vennefron is an aspiring data scientist and a passionate skater, currently pursuing a Master of Science in Business Analytics with a certificate in Data Science from the UC. She is a recipient of the Fulbright ETA grant in South Korea.

Truman Hutchinson is pursuing his Bachelor of History with a Minor in Asian Studies. Truman wants to work in Japan in the future to help bridge cross-cultural differences. He is a recipient of the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program Scholarship

Lance Entsuah is an Economics major with a minor in International Business and a certificate in Business Law and Ethics from Columbus, OH. He is a recipient of the Schwarzman Scholarship.

Trinity Shaya graduated with a B.A. in Psychology in 2021. She was a Darwin T. Turner Scholar and is a recipient of the Pickering Fellowship.

Maria Adams is a Fall 2023 graduate of the University of Cincinnati. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English with a concentration in Creative Writing and a Screenwriting Certificate. She is a semi-finalist for the Fulbright/Durham University Award.

Mallika is a Medical Science Major with a minor in Political Science and certificates in Innovation and Medical Humanities. She is a finalist for the Truman Scholarship.

Adam Elzarka is a fourth-year student double majoring in Medical Sciences and Liberal Arts with concentrations in Arabic, Philosophy, and Psychology and current Boren Scholar. He is a finalist for the Rhodes and Marshall Scholarships.

Olivia Haines graduated in '23 with a Bachelors in Science in Neurobiology and Psychology as well as a Certificate in Medical Humanities. She is an alternate for the Fulbright Study/Research grant in Germany.

Kellie is a fourth-year student majoring in Business Economics and Political Science. She is a finalist for the Gaither Junior Fellows Program.

Jack Hodges is a 4th year student at the University of Cincinnati with a double major in Secondary Education in ELA and an English Literature and Cultural Studies major. He is a semi-finalist for the Fulbright/Athens College-HAEF ETA.

Greta Karoscik is a fourth-year-student pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Asian Studies. She is a finalist for the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program Scholarship.

Nicholas Marx is a graduate from UC’s College of Arts & Sciences program, majoring in French and minoring in Mathematics, with certificates in both Spanish and Business French. He is a finalist for the Gaither Junior Fellows Program.

Claire is a practicing Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Certified Career Coach pursuing a PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision. She is a semi-finalist for the Fulbright Study/Research grant in Switzerland.

Greg Muha is a fourth year Electrical Engineering student at the College of Engineering and Applied Science. Greg received an Honorable Mention for the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship (NSF-GRFP) Program.

Daniel Posmik is a UC graduate with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Economics and a Bachelor of Science in Business Analytics with a minor in Mathematics. He is a finalist for the McCall MacBain Scholarship.

Annah Saladonis graduated from UC in August of 2023 with a degree in Urban Studies and Spanish. She is a semi-finalist for the Fulbright ETA in Spain.

Raghib Shahid, a fourth-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Architecture alongside an Urban Design Undergraduate Certificate. He is a semi-finalist for the Fulbright Study/Research grant in Turkey

Nosagie Sherman is a fourth year student pursuing a triple major in Accounting, Information Systems, and International Business. He is a semi-finalist for the Fulbright National Taiwan Normal University Award in Intern'l Human Resource Development.

Joyce Zheng is a fourth-year student in the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning, pursuing a BS in Architecture with a certificate in Urban Design. She is an alternate for the Fulbright Study/Research grant in Singapore.
