Anna Armao

Erin Seccia is a 2024 graduate of the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Design. During her undergraduate career, she specialized in UX/UI design with a focus on visual communication and design thinking research methodologies. Additionally, she holds a minor in Spanish. An alumna of the NEXT Innovation Scholars program, Erin is drawn to multidisciplinary environments and practices empathetic human-centered design at every step of the design process.

Her introduction to artistic expression began at age 6 when she was gifted her first camera. From then on, her passion for capturing her experiences blossomed, eventually leading her to the field of design. Photography stuck around as her main hobby, and she now uses her photographic practice to document her other hobbies, including hiking, traveling, spending time with cherished friends, and gaming by artfully using the screenshot button on her Nintendo Switch as a built-in camera.

As an environmentalist and self-described novice naturalist, Erin’s passion for nature shines through in both her photographic work and career goals. She aims to use her design skills to empower individuals to take action to slow the ongoing climate crisis. Her Fulbright project is designed to investigate Ecuadorians’ awareness of their native biodiversity, ultimately looking to discover ways that this awareness can be raised. Culminating in a traveling exhibit of her findings, her goal is to communicate information about Ecuadorian wildlife and the global impact these species can have, so long as they are protected and uplifted.
