Anna Armao

Jane Mahon is a second year Criminal Justice PhD student in the College of Arts and Sciences. Jane earned her B.A. in Criminal Justice and Psychological Brain Sciences from George Washington University. Jane grew up working in a women’s shelter where she found her passion for advocating for survivors. The relationships she built with guests at the shelter inspired her to pursue a PhD and explore the how and why of sexual violence.

Her academic journey is fueled by a deep commitment to addressing the complexities of gender-based violence, sex trafficking, and the evaluation of victim services. With research experience spanning childhood victimization, intimate partner cyber abuse, and sex trafficking specialty court programs, Jane strives to bridge the gap between research, policy, and practice.
