Khaled Eid is a third-year undergraduate student majoring in Medical Sciences with a minor in Mathematics at the University of Cincinnati. He is the first author of a machine learning publication optimizing HVAC system performance, presented at the ASHRAE International Winter Conference. His research applied predictive modeling to improve system efficiency and reliability. Through this work, along with a prior reliability engineering co-op at Marathon Petroleum, he developed the analytical discipline and systems-level thinking that now shape his approach to problem-solving.

As an UPRISE Research Fellow, Khaled examined racism in research and healthcare disparities, engaging in sustained dialogue on structural inequities in academia. Beyond research, he teaches conversational English through refugee education initiatives, mentoring students affected by conflict as they build professional fluency and long-term opportunity. Clinically, he serves as a Medical Assistant across UC Health clinics and volunteers with Remote Area Medical, supporting free care for underserved communities. He also mentors autistic youth as a Special Needs Peer Mentor and serves as Event Coordinator for Kicks for Food, a nonprofit initiative that has raised over $5,000 to address food insecurity.

A Cincinnatus Century Scholar and recipient of the UC National Co-Op Ambassador Scholarship, Khaled is committed to building a career in medicine that unites rigorous inquiry, equity, and human connection. He hopes to support international health efforts through organizations such as Doctors Without Borders, working alongside local communities to expand access to care and strengthen healthcare delivery in resource-limited settings.
